HerHeadquarters App

HerHeadquarters App

HAVING AN ALLY HAS NEVER BEEN SO BOSS

I was approached by the owner of Ace Empire Media, a new company that introduces media and tech products that cater to millions of women building empires, to research and design their first mobile app. After they conducted in-house market research to validate the need, they assembled a team to design and build the app, with me at helm of design and usability testing. The owner selected a development company in Ukraine to build the app for both major platforms.

IN THE DETAILS

Her Headquarters is an app exclusive to women entrepreneurs. It was created for women in the US who own brands within the fashion, beauty, entertainment, event planning, and PR industries open to growing their business through brand collaborations. After creating personas and using the market research to inform what features we would build, I got to work designing the app.

I designed the first version and tested with 5 women entrepreneurs across the US during remote sessions on Lookback. They were able to use the prototype like a real app and perform tasks designated in the test script. After consolidating the feedback, I made minor design changes and started to handoff designs to the development team.

I used Sketch to create the screens and imported them into Axure for the owner to use as a demo to investors. I worked with the development team to make updates as needed, used JIRA to track tasks and progress and Zeplin to share design specs, and provided the team with a flow of the app using Overflow. View the full user flow here or interact with it below. (Note: the flow is broken up into boards for different major function of the app. You can change the board view in the bottom left. )

OUTCOMES

After almost a year of research, design, testing, and development, the HerHeadquarters app is set to be launched late-May 2019. Valuable user feedback and analytics will be collected in a beta to make updates before the app is launched throughout the US.
